Provisional Position – Experimental Pale Ale

Experimental? In this economy?! Yes, and it’s damn tasty!

We were offered an experimental yeast strain as a joined effort from our pals at Escarpment Labs and Lallemand Brewing to vet out and trial. We chose a good ol’ pale ale as the template. Bring ’em back!

Built on a mixed base of pilsner and IPA malts, with a supporting cast consisting of dextrin and malted oats. Some super choice Cascade hops were dropped in the mash (yes, the mash). The duo of Cashmere and Simcoe were used in the whirlpool and the same two were used in a restrained dry hoping regiment to let the yeast strain shine. Speaking of, the aforementioned experimental strain tossed off bright aromatics of guava, passionfruit, and a smidge of assorted stone fruits. Those aromatics coupled with the hop bill made for a helluva combo!

Clean and bright, yet soft and crisp… yes, you can have both! This pale ale is a lovely lower ABV option for those who crave hops, but want to enjoy a few pints of it as well.

Come on down a snag a pour of this lil’ gem!
