A delectable lager? An overt LOTR reference? A recurring collaboration? All of the above, please!
This newest light libation is part of our continuing collaborative series with our pals up at Bent Paddle Brewing. We chose the nerdy and crispy route and went for a snappy Pils with some lesser utilized, and wholly delicious, New Zealand-based hops. The result? A damn fine lagerbier for y’all to imbibe!Built on a simple base of two kinds of pilsner malt, and with a light smattering of dextrin and acidulated malts… for body and pH adjustment, respectively. Motueka and Moutere hops (grapefruit, passionfruit, light tropical fruits, lemony-lime zest) grace the pinpoint kettle additions, as well as the tinniest of dry hopping to make the aromatics pop. Our favored lager strain fermented it out to a moderate dryness, while retaining enough heft for residual body. We let the lager phase go low n’ slow for many weeks until crystal clear and lovingly carbed up. Zippy, snappy, and ethereally aromatic… with a lightly firm bitterness to clip it off and reset the palate for the next sip.
Come on down and snag yourselves a pour!!! If any of y’all are headed to ABR this weekend, drop by our booth for a taste of this as well!!
