To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, John (Head Brewer) and his wife, Kaleigh, made a doozy of a hop-saturated libation! West Coast IPAs are some of their favorite hop-forward beers to consume. They conjured one up that is reminiscent of some of their favorites of the style, while being wholly it’s own creation.
Built on a mixed base of Golden Promise and pilsner malts, with a supporting cast consisting of: pale, dextrin, Vienna, and wheat. Estate Grown Comet and Simcoe grace the kettle additions, with a bit of Citra tossed into the whirlpool to boot. The duo of Citra and Simcoe were utilized for a dry-hopping regimen, with a bonus friend in the form of Super Sour Diesel terpenes ribboned into the mix as well. Our favored house ale yeast strain rounded it all out and let those hops pop!
Expect a cornucopia of aromatics and flavors spanning from citrus & tropical tones to pine & danky dankness. An assertive snappy bitterness flashes and endures quickly before wisping away… perfect to lead into another sip.
