Mother’s Day Sourdough Class with “The Sourdough Lady”

May 9 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Sip & Sourdough Mother’s Day Workshop – A Sweet Celebration of Moms

Celebrate the women who nourish, love, and gather us around the table with a special Sip & Sourdough Mother’s Day Workshop with The Sourdough Lady. This one-of-a-kind experience is a heartfelt twist on my signature beginner sourdough classes — designed to be a memorable outing for you and your mom, or a meaningful gift she’ll truly enjoy.

In this cozy, hands-on class hosted at Nine Mile Brewing Co in Bloomington, MN, we’ll create something just as special as the occasion itself: a White Chocolate Strawberry Sourdough Loaf — a lightly sweet, beautifully pink bread perfect for sharing and celebrating.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and returning students alike. We’ll walk step-by-step through the sourdough process in a relaxed and welcoming environment while you sip your drink, enjoy delicious sourdough snacks, and soak in a joyful, celebratory atmosphere.

What we’ll cover:

  • How sourdough works & why it’s different from commercial yeast
  • How to feed, care for, and maintain your own sourdough starter
  • Mixing dough, adding strawberry and chocolate inlcusions, stretch & folds, and bulk fermentation
  • Cold Fermentation, Baking & Storing sourdough bread
  • Ingredients and recommended tools
  • Tips & tricks for sourdough success and plenty of time for Q&A

Special Mother’s Day Experience Includes

  • complimentary drink ticket for everyone registered

  • special gift for moms

  • Raffle drawings for sourdough tools

  • Sourdough snacks to enjoy during class

  • A warm, joyful atmosphere perfect for celebrating together

What to bring:

  • One medium-large sized bowl (2-4qt) for mixing and taking your dough home

What you’ll take home:

  • A jar of my 170-year-old San Francisco sourdough starter “Phoebe”, fed and active
  • Your own dough, ready to finish fermenting, shape, and bake at home a White Chocolate Strawberry Loaf
  • A printed recipe card and starter care guide

The Perfect Gift and Experience

Whether you’re bringing your mom, gifting her a ticket, or simply treating yourself, this workshop is about more than just bread — it’s about connection, creativity, and creating something beautiful with your hands.

Leave with new skills, your own sourdough starter, a loaf in progress, and a sweet memory shared.
