Uncle Buck – Buckwheat Altbier

A nod to brewing tradition meets a nod to a quintessential 80s movie with this darn tasty ale. This Buckwheat Altbier is a slight twist on the classic German style. We made this fun lil’ riff with our pals over at Dangerous Man Brewing in NE MPLS. Built upon a base of German Pilsner with a supporting cast including: Munich, Vienna, Caramunich, & Buckwheat. German Diamant hops provide delicate balance and a smidge of noble floral/grassiness. A traditional Dusseldorf Alt yeast strain rounds everything out beautifully. Malt-forward & toasty with a hint of nuttiness that manages to finish fairly crisp… this is a great beer to cozy up with around a fire or with its namesake movie, or both!
