In our ever-rotating cast of IPAs, we’ve got a punchy one for y’all this round. Named for Pomona, the Roman goddess of orchards and fruits, this vibrant hop-forward offering dances on the palate with aplomb.Built on a base of aptly-named IPA malt from Gambrinus Malting, with touches of pilsner, dextrin, and acidulated malts to boot. Anchovy and Nectaron hops meld into kettle and whirlpool additions. Alora and Nectaron were used in tandem for a sizable dry hop addition too. As a fun bonus, we utilized some Anchovy Quantum (terpene-based flowable “hops”) from our pals at Abstrax Hops to amp up the aromatics. And last, but certainly not least, we used a new yeast strain from our friends at Escarpments Labs named… wait for it… Pomona! (Wink, wink… nudge, nudge) This strain tosses off lots of assorted stone fruit aromatics that play very well with hops.Bright, citrusy, stone fruit-laden, with wisps of pineapple… this IPA is a damn fine thirst slayer.
